A Quick and Easy Way to Make Your Pictures More Interesting
Many of us have been taught to put our subject right in the middle of the picture. One of the easiest ways to improve your pictures is to shift your subject over to the side a little bit.
Let’s look at some examples:
Here our subject is right in the middle of the picture. The background is distracting and it’s hard to figure out what we’re supposed to be looking at.
The red lines show where most of his body is- right in the middle.
To make the picture more interesting, all we have to do is move him over just a little bit.
In this second picture, our subject looks more like he is in a scene. The background is also more recognizable and becomes part of the whole picture instead of competing with our subject.
Here’s how it looks with the red center lines:
This time you can see that his body is mostly to the left of the middle line.
This one small change will help make your pictures more visually pleasing and interesting.
